1. Brainstorming session.

Table 1. As you brainstorm, fill in the green column in the first table below. You can copy it in your notebook, fill it in online or download it. You can also do a. to f. below.
a. Name of the charity
Catchy name that attracts people’s attention.
b. Cause selected and reasons for your choice
Make sure you agree on which cause to fight for and make a list of your motivations. 
c. Comparison with the Royal Family
Is the cause you have chosen to fight  for already part of the Royal Family’s philanthropic efforts (Who supports it? Name of the royal charity? Characteristics? ...)? Explain what’s the same and what’s different.  
d. Objectives of the charity
Think about the concrete actions your charity will organize. 
e. Hopes for the future
Discuss your short-term and long-term goals for the future.
f. Logo and catchphrase
Discuss your logo (shape(s), colour(s), ...). 
You can choose a catchphrase to catch people’s attention. 

2. Design Your Slideshow

a. Design

  • Choose visuals to bring your slide show to life.
  • Pick a theme (colours, easy to read font, ...). 
  • Decide if you want to add music. 
  • Decide on the number of slides (no more than 10).

Choose which idea /information will be the focal point of each slide. Write a title for each slide.

3. Practise your oral presentation.

  • Choose who will present which slides.
  • Decide who will explain your choices for the logo.
  • Practise speaking on the slides on your own. Remember that you won’t be allowed to read notes. 
  • Check the pronunciation of difficult words: https://www.wordreference.com/enfr/.
  • Use the vocabulary and the structures from the unit:
    ☐ present perfect for statements                ☐ expressing goals and objectives

b. Practise in groups 

  • Present your slides to the other members of the group. 
  • Check how long you’ve spoken for (1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes)
